About us:

A Message from Jennifer O'Neill

Animals, especially horses, have been my passion since I was a child. They inspired my imagination in books and movies, and when I finally met a horse in real life, we tore like the wind across open fields together, then snuggled in the barn while I shared all my hopes and dreams. It was during those magical times that I discovered what deep healing powers and unconditional love all animals offer us… It’s their nature.

I started working at fifteen to buy a horse of my own, and I’ve had the pleasure of their company ever since. From my Equine Breeding Program to showing the “A” Circuit, caring for my fanciful array of dogs, cats and other fury-four-legged friends has been a life-long commitment.

And now, what a pleasure it is to share our HILLENGLADE Farm, as well as all of the animals here, with Veterans, Service Military and their families who have given so much to protect our freedoms!

Having been born into a Military family, I personally know about some of the sacrifices our Veterans have made on our behalf. NOW IT’S OUR TURN TO GIVE BACK! The invisible enemy that all too often haunts our Warriors after they return home from combat include:

~ Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: We are loosing more Service men and women to suicide daily than were killed in Afghanistan and Iraq combined…And that does not include our Vietnam Veterans!

~ Alienation from friends and family.

~ Difficulty integrating back into society and the workforce.

~ Strain within their marriages and families.

Scars need to MEND.
That’s what HILLENGLADE™ is all about!

IMAGINE being able to offer our Veterans and those actively serving in all Branches of our Armed Forces, time away in the country to enjoy the therapeutic wonder of horses, pony rides, exhibitions, music, shared meals, games and team sports!

Imagine Disneyland with Fur and you’ve discovered a day at Hillenglade. A PLACE AND TIME TO UNWIND TOGETHER…

Jen xo RaHHH!!!

"Thank you for your hospitality, smiles and especially for all you did yesterday, and continue to do, for veterans and families suffering through the tragedy of PTSD. I look so forward to having you join us, and be a part, in Knoxville for the first of our statewide PTSD Town Hall Meeting(s) on December 2 at the Washington Pike United Methodist Church. And, certainly to recognize you and your incredible work for PTSD at our Region III Banquet on March 28, 2015 at the Knoxville Hilton. Your dedication to veterans and active-duty military makes God’s glorious sunrises of opportunity even brighter."
- Barry Rice, President, Tennessee State Council, Vietnam Veterans of America

"I enjoyed observing your event and the reactions of the children and parents.  Thank you for arranging this superb program."

- General Hubert Smith, Retired Lt. Gen. U.S. Army

"Thank you for your time and hospitality.  You made our work for WATE-TV so easy.  Our story of Post Traumatic Stress and the efforts to help people will air in a few weeks.I am truly thankful for what you and your husband are doing for veterans, active service people and their families in your efforts to make their journey less stressful.  The Nashville area is blessed to have you. It was a pleasure meeting you and God bless everything that you do."
- Don Dare, Reporter WATE

"Jennifer O’Neill opens up her amazing horse stable and land at Hillenglade to military families and veterans four times a year, with horse and pony rides, first-class live music from established country music singers from Nashville, an amazing catered BBQ lunch, pumpkin and horseshoe painting, donkey painting, and horse demonstrations…all for service members and their families, completely free. I was shocked at how far they went to make it feel like it was an intimate party thrown just for us by her family, volunteers and workers. Everyone there thanked us over and over for our service, and loved on our kids like they were their own.
It was so amazing…after living on or near a military post, where no one really cares if you are military or not (and sometimes people even dislike you for it), it blew us away how everyday Americans were so thankful for us and showed appreciation even to my kids. All I could do was try not to cry and thank everyone over and over…it was incredible. And [my daughter] Addy  is officially obsessed with horses! Thank you SO MUCH!"
- Rachel J., Military Wife
